What We Treat
We deal with the species most often found in North-West lofts - and the contamination they leave behind. Treatment alone is half a job; without proofing and decontamination, the next colony moves in within weeks.
Norway and black rats nesting in insulation, gnawing cables and contaminating the loft deck with urine and droppings. Treated with rodenticide programmes and full proofing.
House mice colonise lofts through 6mm gaps. We use targeted bait stations away from non-target species, then seal every entry point and replace soiled insulation.
Squirrels chew through tiles, soffits and cabling - a genuine fire risk. Controlled under the Invasive Species Order and dealt with discreetly and lawfully.
Pigeons, gulls and starlings nesting in eaves, soffits and around flue terminals. Nests removed (outside breeding season), entry points proofed, guano decontaminated.
Active nests in soffits, eaves and water tanks. Treated and removed in a single visit with appropriate PPE - typically same-day across our service area.
Once host birds or rodents leave, parasites migrate down into living spaces. We treat the loft and the rooms below as a single contamination event.
How We Work
On-site within 24 hours. Species ID, entry-point map and contamination assessment.
Species-specific control programme - rodenticide, nest removal, wasp treatment, bird deterrent.
Every entry sealed: soffits, eaves, cable penetrations, tile gaps, flue surrounds.
Soiled insulation stripped under EA waste-carrier licence, deck sanitised, photographic sign-off.
Pairs With
Once the colony is gone, contaminated insulation needs to come out. We strip, decontaminate the deck and reinstate compliant insulation in a single coordinated visit - usually the most cost-effective route for the householder and the insurer.

Common signs include scratching or scurrying noises overhead (especially at dawn and dusk), droppings on the loft deck or in insulation, gnawed cables or pipework, strong ammonia-like odours, and visible nesting material in the eaves. We carry out a free on-site loft survey and confirm exactly what's living up there.
Rats, mice, grey squirrels, pigeons and other roosting birds, wasps and hornets, fleas and mites left behind by hosts, and bat-related insect activity (bats themselves are a protected species - we work alongside licensed bat workers). Each species needs a different proofing and treatment plan.
Both. Treatment is one part of the job. The bigger problem is usually the contaminated insulation, droppings, urine staining and damaged cabling left behind. We treat, strip out contaminated insulation under our waste-carrier licence, decontaminate the loft deck, and quote separately for re-insulation if needed.
Soffit gaps, broken roof tiles, unsealed cable and pipe penetrations, missing eaves comb-filler, and gaps around flues. After treatment we proof every entry point we can identify - otherwise the next colony moves in within weeks.
Many policies cover the decontamination and replacement of insulation damaged by vermin, but not the pest treatment itself. We provide insurer-formatted reports, photographic evidence and itemised invoices so claims can be submitted cleanly.
We run a 24/7 office line and typically attend within 24 hours across the Wirral, Liverpool and Cheshire - same-day for active wasp nests, nesting birds blocking flues, or rodent activity affecting electrics.
